Movies-in-the-Park
Topic: Recreation
Time: 8:45pm
Location: Petoskey - Pennsylvania Park

The Petoskey Film Theater will be showing two films this weekend as part of the Movies-in-the-Park series.  The wonderful animated "Finding Nemo" will be showing Friday, Sept. 3, 8:45 pm in Pennsylvania Park (across from the Perry Hotel).  "Shrek" will be showing on Saturday, Sept. 4, 8:45 pm.  Everyone is welcome to come, bring blankets and snacks and watch these fun movies out under the stars.  Suggested donation is $2.00 per person.  |

"Finding Nemo" is a hilarious adventure where you'll meet colorful characters that take you into the breathtaking underwater world of Australia's Great Barrier Reef.  Nemo, an adventurous young clownfish, is unexpectedly taken to a dentist's office aquarium. It's up to Marlin, his worrisome father, and Dory, a friendly but forgetful regal blue tang fish, to make the epic journey to bring Nemo home. Their adventure brings them face-to-face with vegetarian sharks, surfer dude turtles, hypnotic jellyfish, hungry seagulls, and more. Marlin discovers a bravery he never knew, but will he be able to find his son? "Finding Nemo"'s breakthrough computer animation takes you into a whole new world with this undersea adventure about family, courage, and challenges.

William Steig's delightfully fractured fairy tale, "Shrek", is the right stuff for this computer-animated adaptation full of verve and wit. The title character is an agreeable enough ogre who wants to live his days in peace. When the diminutive Lord Farquaad evicts local fairy-tale creatures, they settle in the ogre's swamp and Shrek wants answers from Farquaad. A quest of sorts starts for Shrek and his new pal, a talking donkey, where battles have to be won and a princess must be rescued from a dragon lair in a thrilling action sequence. The story is stronger than most animated fare, but it's the humor that makes Shrek a winner.  Enchantingly irreverent and monsterously clever.

Come and enjoy an evening under the stars.
